Hong
Kong’s designer boutique hotel, The Luxe Manor, has joined Small Luxury
Hotels of the World, a collection of over 440 independent luxury hotels in
more than 70 countries. The Luxe Manor, featuring 159 rooms, is styled after
a European mansion and offers high-tech features such as Internet-friendly
TVs and wireless-enabled telephony. Additionally, the hotel has a business
centre with secretarial services and function rooms.
CHI Hotels and Resorts enters Abu Dhabi
CHI Hotels
and Resorts, a joint venture between Malta-based International Hotel
Investments and US-based Wyndham Hotel Group, announced the signing of a
ten-year technical and hotel management agreement with Mainland Investments
LLC, Abu Dhabi.
Best Westin to be the largest hotel chain in
the Middle East
Best Westin,
one of the world’s largest hotel chains, announced that it is currently
developing as many as 25 hotels in Gulf Co-operation (GC) countries, which
will lead it to become one of the most extensive hotel chains in the Middle
East within 2011.
St. Regis debuts in Malaysia
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced the debut of its St. Regis
brand in Malaysia with the signing of St. Regis Kuala Lumpur. The property,
owned by ONE IFC Sdn Bhd, will consist of 200 guest rooms and 200
whole-ownership St. Regis branded residences. In addition, the hotel will
feature a Remede spa, gourmet dining and meeting facilities.
Le
Meridien continues expansion in Asia Pacific
Le Meridien announced plans to open two new properties in Asia-Pacific,
one in Taipei and one in Xiamen, China. Le Meridien Taipei is the brand’s
first hotel in Taiwan, scheduled to open in early 2011 in Hsinyi, Taipei’s
central business district. Le Meridien Xiamen, China will open in 2009 in
Xianyue Hill, one of the city’s most exclusive neighbourhoods. Both hotels
are going to be operated by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.
Jumeirah enters Latin America
Jumeirah, the Dubai-based luxury international hospitality management group,
has been appointed by Culu Culu Lifestyle S.A. to manage a luxury resort
dedicated to polo and equestrian sports, in Argentina. Jumeirah Culu Culu
Polo Lifestyle Resort will be located in Lobos, in close proximity to
Argentina’s Ezeiza International Airport, featuring eight polo fields, a
spa, a fitness centre as well as an 18-hole golf course. The resort is due
to be completed by 2010. |
